Morgan Falls Overlook Park

img_9935We finally got a break from the cold and the rain. The boys were ready to get out of the house and explore.

We drove to Sandy Springs, Ga to Morgan Falls Overlook Park. Google maps gave easy directions to follow. The road dead ends and you can go left to the creek and dog park or you can go right to the playground and lake.

We spent our time by the lake and playground. Thou, my boys are older and not interested in playground equipment they were wowed at the play set. It is covered and has turf underneath. The restrooms are close by and were clean. The pavilion is large with many tables. A great spot for a picnic.

The view of the lake is amazing. You can sit on one of the many porch swings and view the lake or sit around a cozy fire pit. A steep set of stairs takes you to a floating dock. There is also a ramp available that starts at the parking lot.

My boys enjoyed an afternoon of fishing off the dock. They are not expert fisherman but they did catch one fish.

Behind the playground there is a trail. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to explore it. The boys loved the park and want to go back to fish again and walk the trail.
